Lorde Manchester reviews
Love me some Lorde
Lorde was incredible, her voice is amazing live! Hearing her speak was beautiful too and her dancers in the background really helped put on a SHOW! I cried throughout the whole transition between writer in the dark, solo (a cover), and liability. She really had a way of connecting with the audience and playing to Portland as gif we were the only city in the world.
Her first opener was amazing too! Tove Styrke is definitely a mell-slow-jams that you can totally dance to in the shower.
Run the Jewels, however, were GOD AWFUL! I have no idea how they got on the tour but it was loud and incoherent. I enjoyed when they spoke between songs - they seemed like nice, relatable guys, but their music sounded like a pastor trying to be cool by rapping his sermon. Would not recommend if you listen to Lorde to cope with anxiety (like the one lovely, upset girl I met in the bathroom when I couldn't really deal with the noise anymore)
All that being said, without the second opener, the concert was perfect!
